Plärrer Fair Parade 2025

In view of a turbulent situation of world and society, another participation of American forces in the Plärrer fair parade had to be thought over. The German-American friendship however was, exemplarily unimpressed, demonstrated in Augsburg, Colonel Steven J. Curtis of the 66th MI BDE from Wiesbaden placing great value on paying reference as his unit had been the final U.S. unit in Augsburg.

On 23 September, two busses with 30 soldiers and dependents arrived to initiate their Plärrer attendance with a visit of the Neues Amerika Haus in the Sheridan Park. In the finest “Plärrer weather”, the 19th participation in the event took place with - after all these years – still unwavering attention of the street viewers. In the beer tent, the guests were traditionally provided with a “Maß” (Liter) beer and roast chicken, the predominant young Americans also coming down to the Bavarian way of life.
