Day of the Open University, July 15, 2010 - American Day

In the lecture room center of the university, members of the Amerika in Augsburg e.V. Society participated in a discourse of first-hand witnesses that should remind of the American military presence in the Lech metropolis. This was part of a students’ workshop with presentations about the multi-cultural societies in Canada and USA as well as the U.S. presence in Augsburg.

Dr. Markus Günther, chief editor of the newspaper “Augsburger Allgemeine”, presented the following panel discussion about the future of the transatlantic relationship with the American Consul General from Munich, Mr. Conrad R. Tribble, Dr. Christian Ruck and Ms. Claudia Roth (both Members of Parliament), as well as Augsburg University’s Prof. Dr. Philipp Gassert (Chair of European-Transatlantic History) and Prof. Dr. Hubert Zapf (Chair of Americana).
